Beta feedback for the upcoming Android 6.12 release

Appreciate the transparency for sure. I have a pixel, which allows stuff to run in the background if I want it to. They’re rate well on dontkillmyapp. I’d hazard a guess that the ones ignoring scheduled messages are probably Samsung or other heavily modified OEM skins.

Would it be possible to trigger it the “normal”/correct way for phones that aren’t trigger happy with killing background apps and simultaneously schedule an alarm for phones that are? i.e. do it the normal way on pixels but if the device detects it’s on a Samsung it’ll schedule an alarm?

That’s a good point about Google messages - I think it’s forced to be allowed to run in the background at all times as well. (Unoptimized in battery settings.)

What about Tasker though? I don’t grant any special battery exceptions to that app, even though it asks for it, and it’s able to apparently set an alarm without ending do not disturb. It doesn’t have dnd access either.
